Help for Angel Comia Manalese
ENGLISH VERSION
Angel is my 17 year old niece, currently freshman at Lyceum of Batangas (Philippines) taking up Accountancy. She is the youngest daughter of my sister, Carmen, who passed away last year due to cerebral aneurysm. Angel was born premature at 6 months because my sister suffered enclampsia then. Even if there were some defects brought about by her premature birth (she stayed in the incubator for 3 months), she tried to live a normal life.
Recently, due to severe cough and colds, she was brought to the doctor for a check up because she can barely hear. The doctor diagnosed her hearing condition as severe and needs to have a pair of hearing aid badly and urgently, or she might lose her hearing eventually (this is another effect of her premature birth). When the doctor tried on her the hearing aid, Angel was both overjoyed and thrilled because she could hear even the faintest of sounds which she never experienced in the past.
My 79 year old mom, who acts as her guardian since my sister's death, could only cry when she learned that the pair of hearing aid costs USD 1,200 excluding doctor's fees for her treatment. My mom has no income and incapable to raise the money to buy Angel the hearing aid she needs. Our family is not financially well off and we could only pray to God to send the people to help us raise the amount for Angel.
We realized that there are people around the world who can be very generous to extend help. In fact, the internet was also a big help for us to raise the money to pay off part of the hospital bills of my sister Carmen, when she was confined for 3 months in the hospital about 2 years ago ,after she suffered cerebral aneurysm. So we thought of utilizing technology again to send out our request for donations and support for Angel.

Sa ngayon po, halos di na makarinig ang isang tenga ni Angel. Ang kabilang tenga ay mahina na din. Sabi ng doctor na kelangan na ng hearing aid (condition: severe). Walang paglagyan ng tuwa ang bata habang nakasuot ng hearing aid na pinasubok sa kanya sa isang clinic. Pero, iyak na lang ang nagawa ng Nanay Fabing, dahil 56,000 pesos (28k each) daw ang halaga ng hearing aid. Gustuhin man ng isang mapagmahal na lola na ibigay ang makakabuti at makakatulong sa kanyang apo, wala syang magawa. Iisa lang ang nararamdaman namin, kasama ng mga pinsan, na walang kakayahan na makatulong pampinansyal, ang gumawa ng paraan sa abot ng makakaya. Angel has been under the guardianship of Nanay Fabing since Ate Carmen passed away last year.
